About Me

Isabella Mari Griggs (she/her) is an American and Japanese-Brazilian actor who developed her love for storytelling in Singapore, where she grew up. She is drawn to work that makes you reflect and confront inconvenient truths. Some of her passions within the arts include developing new work, immersive theatre, interactive performance, and art that inspires social change.

She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and minor in Consumer Behavior and is now based in LA. She has also trained in London at the British American Drama Academy, and Upright Citizens Brigade, and will be a member of IAMA’s Acting Summer intensive cohort for 2026.

Isabella is a new member of The Road Theatre company and has also helped develop original works with Rogue Artists Ensemble, where she worked as an intern for a year and continues to collaborate as an Associate Artist.

Her recent theatre credits include Room by the Sea (U/S Outside In, Coin & Ghost, After Hours Theatre Co.), The Wolves (Morgan-Wixson Theatre), Collective Rage (U/S Bethesda Repertory Theatre at the LGBT Center), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (USC), and Jekyll and Hyde (BADA). She was also recently in an original short play reading of Chelsea Sutton’s I Say Running is like Breathing for Rogue Artist Ensemble’s “Rogue Lab: Rough Draft Series,” and Eightball Theatre’s staged reading of Buck v. Bell for their new works festival. She recently filmed a short called The Camera with award winning director and editor, Mari Walker.

With her multi-cultural upbringing and endless curiosity, Isabella approaches every project with a worldly perspective. She is a risk-taker with the willingness to play and isn’t afraid to bring ideas to the table. Her passion and discipline allow her to get the work done while having fun along the way.

When she isn’t acting, Isabella enjoys going on walks, doing crosswords, going to the batting cage, playing frisbee, and mouth trumpeting!
